Gynaecology Centre

 

The Gynaecology Department at the Caucasus Medical Centre is staffed by a team of highly qualified, experienced doctors. These medical professionals are always up to date with modern treatment approaches. They offer diagnosis and treatment for various gynecological pathologies.

 

The Department is equipped with a modern, high quality material and technical base and conducts both manual and the following types of clinical laboratory tests:
 

  • Pap test;
  • Endometrial pipelle biopsy;
  • Colposcopy;
  • Cervical biopsy;
  • Endometrial aspiration biopsy;
  • Hysteroscopy;
  • Transabdominal and transvaginal ultrasound;
  • Magnetic resonance imaging of lesser pelvis;
  • Ultrasound with 3D and 4D technology.

 

In accordance with international guidelines and protocols, the following treatments are to be administered:
 

  • Infertility;
  • Endometrial hyperplastic processes;
  • Malformations in the development of the gynaecological organs;
  • Benign ovarian tumours;
  • Uterine fibroids;
  • Endometriosis;
  • Cervical pathologies;
  • Dropping of gynaecological organs (prolapse);
  • Stress urinary incontinence;
  • Ectopic pregnancy;
  • Ovarian apoplexy;
  • Polycystic ovary syndrome.

 

The following laparoscopic, laparotomic and hysterectomy procedures are performed in the Gynaecology Unit:
 

  • Electrosurgical conization of the cervix with coagulation;
  • Partial and radical resection of the cervix;
  • Cervical Cryosurgery;
  • Resection of submucosal uterine fibroids;
  • Endometrial resection and ablation, etc.

 

In order to prevent gynaecological diseases, it is recommended that women consult a gynaecologist once a year from the onset of their sexual lives. In addition, in order to detect pathologies in a timely manner and ensure effective management, it is important to be familiar with the symptoms, in case of which consultation with a doctor is required:
 

  • Pain in lesser pelvis;
  • Bleeding of unknown cause;
  • Menstrual disorders and shorter menstrual cycle;
  • Vaginal discomfort (discharge);
  • Dyspareunia (painful intercourse).
