Maia Shamugia, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine. She received her medical education at higher educational institutions in Lviv and Donetsk, and defended her doctoral degree at the D. O. Ott Research Institute of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductology in Saint Petersburg.
She has many years of practical experience working in leading clinics in Russia, where she held senior positions at various times. Since 2017, her professional activity has been closely associated with the Caucasus Medical Center, where she leads state programs on cervical pathology and screening. From 2022 to the present, she continues her work at the same center. She is an active member of the Georgian Societies of Obstetricians-Gynecologists and Colposcopy. She is fluent in Georgian, Russian, and Czech.
