Traumatology and Orthopaedics Centre

 

The Orthopaedics and Traumatology Unit, staffed by a team of highly qualified doctors of the Caucasus Medical Centre and equipped with modern material and technical base, offers patients 24-hour diagnostic, outpatient and inpatient services.

 

Regarding diagnostic tests, the Orthopaedics and Traumatology Department performs both laboratory and instrumental tests, namely:
 

  • X-ray;
  • Magnetic Resonance Imaging;
  • Computed Tomography;
  • Ultrasonography.

 

Experienced physicians of the Department, who are members of various traumatological associations in the world, are constantly updated with the latest international guidelines and implement treatment methods in accordance with them. They provide treatment for traumatic injuries (all types of surgery are performed) of any localization and severity and musculoskeletal disorders. The Department provides the following:
 

  • Conservative and operative treatment of all types of fractures of the shoulder girdle, the extremities and the pelvis using the latest fixation implants and methods;
  • Surgical treatment of unhealed fractures, "false joints", post-traumatic and orthopaedic deformities with plastic surgery and bone tissue transplantation, limb lengthening;
  • Surgical treatment of acute and older tendon and muscle injuries (shoulder, forearm, thigh, shin, Achilles tendon and others) with plastic surgery;
  • Conservative and operative correction of foot deformities (Flat feet, Hallux valgus deformity of 1st toe, Heel spur and others);
  • Endoprostheses and reendoprostheses of the hip and knee joints with implants of European and American brands;
  • Conservative treatment of osteoarthritis with intra-articular (shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, ankle and others) injections;
  • Mini-invasive - arthroscopic operations of different locations;
  • Both conservative and surgical treatment of infectious complications  of any localisation in the musculoskeletal system - treatment of acute and chronic osteomyelitis, orthopaedic and traumatological implant-related (after endoprosthetics and osteosynthesis) infectious complications, septic arthritis;

 

Patients, together with the specialist, can choose a fixation implant from any manufacturer.

 

The Department also has a Sports Injury Unit, which provides diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of traumatic injuries to professional athletes.
