Mammalogy Centre

The team of highly qualified doctors with Western experience of the Mammalogy Department of the Caucasus Medical Centre provides prevention, diagnosis and treatment of both benign and malignant breast diseases in accordance with the highest quality standards, as well as outpatient and inpatient services.

 

 

The Mammalogy Unit performs the following procedures:
 

  • Core biopsy with ultrasound control, histomorphological and immunohistochemical examination of the material;
  • Fine needle biopsy with cytological examination of the material;
  • Intra-operative morphological and cytological express-diagnosis with sentinel lymph node biopsy;
  • Mammography;
  • Ultrasonography;
  • Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS).

 

 

The clinical board of the hospital determines the patient's individual treatment plan. The treatment, which is carried out according to international guidelines and protocols, includes the following:
 

  • Chemotherapy;
  • Hormonal therapy;
  • Targeted therapy;
  • Surgical treatment of benign and malignant breast tumours;
  • Single-stage and delayed reconstructive oncoplastic surgery.

 

 

It is important to note that the Caucasus Medical Centre is involved in the free state screening program, the aim of which is to prevent the development of the disease, to detect it in an early stage, and to manage it effectively. The program provides breast cancer screening for patients aged 40 to 70.
