Mammologist and oncological surgeon Otar Gagua, licensed in general surgery and surgical oncology, joined the Caucasus Medical Centre in 2019.
The doctor has international training experience: in 2023, he completed a fellowship at the Breast Unit of the Champalimaud Clinical Center in Lisbon, where he studied oncoplastic breast surgery, and in 2025, at the Breast Surgery Department of Samsung Medical Center in Seoul, where he studied minimally invasive breast surgery. That same year, he took part in the GBCC Breast Robotic Surgery Workshop in Seoul.
He is a member of three leading European medical organisations: ESO, ESMO, and ESSO. He has spoken at international conferences, including as a speaker at the ESMO Preceptorship on Breast Cancer in Switzerland (2022), and also took part in the GBCC 2025 Congress in Seoul.
The doctor speaks Georgian, English, and Russian.
