After graduating from Tbilisi State Medical University (1989-1995), Lado Tsikarishvili continued his professional development in the field of neurosurgery at the P. Sarajishvili Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery (1995-1996) and research Institute of Neurosurgery named after Academician NN Burdenko (1996-2002). At the same institute, he was awarded the degree of Doctor of Medicine for his paper on the surgical treatment of skull base tumors (2002).
To improve his qualifications, he was improving his skills and qualification in the world's leading clinics: Mayo Clinic (pediatric neurosurgery, epilepsy surgery), London National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery (spine surgery), at the Charité Clinic in Berlin (vascular neurosurgery), at the Federico II University Hospital in Naples (endoscopic transsphenoidal surgery), and at the Tübingen University Hospital (skull base surgery).
Lado Tsikarishvili has many years of working experience in the field of medicine. At this stage, he is the head of the neurosurgical department of the Caucasus Medical Center.
Lado Tsikarishvili is also a member of the Georgian Society of Neurosurgeons, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), the Congress of Neurosurgeons of America (CNS), European Association for Neurosurgical Sciences (EANS), the European Society for the Study of the Spine (AOSpine), and the Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS).
In 2009, Lado Tsikarishvili revised an adapted Georgian translation of the American Heart and Stroke Association of Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Subarachnoid Hemorrhage. Mr. Tsikarishvili has published over 30 scientific publications and is the author of 2 monographs.
