About doctor
Academic Doctor of Medicine Giorgi Merabishvili is a licensed proctologist, general surgeon, and endoscopist. He joined the Caucasus Medical Center team in 2018 and leads the proctology department.
Due to his medical and scientific activities, he has been a member of the International Society of Surgeons (ISS) since 2016. Additionally, he frequently participates in international conferences and congresses, where he learns about and implements the latest advancements in modern medicine.
As a lecturer, he is also involved in the educational process of training future doctors and has been an associate professor at Tbilisi State Medical University (TSMU) since 2024.
As a proctologist, Dr. Giorgi Merabishvili treats an average of 400 outpatient cases annually and performs approximately 150 surgical procedures. His proctological surgical interventions include:
- Hemorrhoidectomy
- Excision of anal fissures
- Fistulectomy
- Excision of pilonidal sinus
- Ligation of hemorrhoidal nodes
- Botox injection in the perianal area
