Biography

 

He graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University and completed his residency at the National Ophthalmology Center. To enhance his qualifications, he has trained at leading clinics worldwide. Mikheil is an active participant in international conferences. He is also the chairman of the Georgian Vitreoretinal Society, a board member of the Georgian Ophthalmological Society, a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, and a member of the European Vitreoretinal Society.

 

He has 30 years of experience in ophthalmology.

 

From 1999 to 2011, he worked at the National Eye Center, and from 2011 to 2018, he held the position of lead ophthalmic surgeon at New Hospital.

 

Since 2018, he has been the Deputy Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Caucasus Medical Center.

 

His specialization includes cataract, glaucoma, refractive surgery, vitreoretinal surgery, and laser surgery.

 

Every year, Mikheil performs 2,500–3,000 surgeries.
