Dr. Levan Makhaldiani, a hematologist-transfusiologist, joined the team at the Caucasus Medical Center in 2021 and currently leads the Hematology Department.

He has extensive experience gained at leading U.S. clinics such as the Mayo Clinic and the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

With years of experience in the field, he actively participates in international conferences, symposiums, and congresses, explores and implements innovative treatment approaches, and is involved in international educational activities.

Due to his active medical career, Dr. Levan Makhaldiani is the president of the Thrombosis and Hemostasis Society of Georgia.

With the experience and modern approaches he has gained, Dr. Levan Makhaldiani serves an average of 2,000 outpatient patients annually and offers the management and diagnosis of the following pathologies:

• Acute and chronic leukemia
• Lymphomas
• Myeloma disease
• Anemias (acquired and congenital forms)
• Thrombocytopenia
• Coagulopathies (hemophilia, thrombophilia)
• Drug-induced pancytopenia
• Bone marrow biopsy
