An important determining factor for the success of the multidisciplinary surgical service of the Caucasus Medical Center is the post-operative management department of the highest level, which is spread over 15 beds. It is headed by Ketevan Burduladze, a reanimatologist-anesthesiologist with international experience.
Intensive care is a specialized department for the management of resuscitated patients after major surgical interventions. Cardiosurgical, neurosurgical, general surgical, vascular, oncological, orthopedic patients are treated in the department after surgical intervention. The post-operative intensive care unit has a qualified team of nurses who are specialized in this area. The Postoperative Intensive Care Unit, along with other related services, plays an important role in the functioning of the Stroke Management Center as it is where patients are received after thrombolysis and thrombectomy.
