The Critical Care and Intensive Care Department at the Caucasus Medical Centre is accredited by JCI, the highest healthcare accreditation organisation in the United States of America.The Department is staffed with highly qualified medical personnel and equipped with state-of-the-art technology, ensuring 24/7 management of critical, severe, and high-acuity patients

The Department successfully implements the following:

• Management of acute neurosurgical cases;
• Management of severe polytrauma;
• Management of renal failure, including the use of renal replacement therapy - haemodialysis;
• Management of sepsis;
• Management of respiratory distress syndrome (respiratory failure and impaired oxygenation of the lungs);
• Management of respiratory failure;
• Management of all types of shock;
• Management of intoxications;
• Management of critical conditions of neurological pathologies, including: stroke, polyneuropathy, encephalopathy, delirium, etc.

The Department is equipped with the necessary modern equipment for patient management:

• Ventilator (artificial lung ventilation apparatus) with all modern modes of respiration;
• Infusion pumps;
• ICP monitor;
• Spectral monitor;
• Defibrillator;
• Haemodialysis device;
• Invasive and non-invasive monitors;
• Bronchoscope, video laryngoscope;
• Capnometer.
