Maxillofacial Surgery

The Caucasian Medical Centre has the Maxillofacial Surgery Unit, which provides both planned and emergency surgical treatment of face, oral cavity and neck pathologies of any complexity, using fully qualified personnel and modern equipment.

The department performs:
 

• Surgical treatment of cancers and cancer-like diseases of the oral and maxillofacial region;
• Surgical treatment of mumps, submandibular, sublingual and small salivary gland disorders;
• Treatment of congenital and acquired maxillofacial defects (reconstruction of post-traumatic deformities, etc.);
• Surgical treatment of anomalies in the development of the jaws (upper and lower prognathism, retrognathism and micrognathism);
• Surgical management of temporomandibular disorders;
• Surgical treatment of traumatic injuries to the maxillofacial region (fractures of facial bones);
• Treatment of maxillofacial surgical infections: abscess, phlegmon, furuncles, carbuncles, osteomyelitis;
• Surgical and conservative treatment of sinusitis
• Surgical management of oral pathologies;
• Surgical treatment of middle and lateral neck cysts;
• Treatment of cysts of the jaw;
• Sinus lift surgery (osteoplastic surgery, by which the necessary volume is created in the implant area to restore the torn bone tissue);
• Reconstruction of the alveolar ridge;
• Plastic surgery of facial and neck scars;
• Surgical treatment of pathologies of the jaw and dental system;
• Reconstructive surgery of post-traumatic facial defects.

As early intervention significantly improves the outcome of treatment and protects us from complications and additional interventions, it is important to know the symptoms that should prompt you to seek medical attention, such as:
 

• Pain in the face, mouth and neck;
• Presence of new growths;
• Bleeding from the mouth or nose;
• Numbness or tingling in the face or mouth;
• Difficulty opening the mouth;
• Sudden swelling or deformity of the face;
• Any kind of pathology in the area of the face, mouth and neck.
