Robotic Surgery Center has opened at the JCI-accredited Caucasus Medical Centre!
The latest-generation Toumai robotic surgical system has been officially launched at the Caucasus Medical Centre, offering patients high-tech, precise, and minimally invasive surgical treatment in line with world standards.
As a hospital holding JCI international accreditation, the multidisciplinary Caucasus Medical Centre continuously implements modern medical technologies and evidence-based clinical practices, with the primary goal of patient safety, the best treatment outcomes, and high-quality medical care. The Toumai robotic system combines high-resolution 3D visualization with multi-articulated instruments, giving surgeons exceptional precision in anatomically complex, reconstructive, and oncological operations.
The implementation of the robotic program was preceded by multi-stage international preparation. The urology team, led by David Nikoleishvili, underwent extensive and intensive clinical training at Universitätsklinikum Leipzig in Germany, where they mastered the full range of modern robotic urological operations at one of the world's leading referral centers. In parallel, the urology, gynecology, general surgery, and thoracic surgery teams, along with anesthesiologists, operating room nurses, and surgical staff, completed the official theoretical and practical training program at the international training center (China) of MedBot, the manufacturer of the Toumai system. The training covered the safe operation of the robotic system, practical modules of Dry Lab and Wet Lab, organization of the operative process, and coordinated work of the multidisciplinary team.
