Biography

Urologist and Onco-Urologist, PhD, David Nikoleishvili is the Head of the Urology Department at Caucasus Medical Center.

 

In addition to urology and onco-urology, he is also licensed in pediatric urology and transplantation.

 

Dr. Nikoleishvili has extensive international experience spanning over 22 years. He has actively participated in international training programs, grant projects, key medical programs, and educational courses. Notable among them are:

  • In 2004, he attended a joint seminar by the America-Austria Foundation (AAF) and the European School of Urology (ESU).
  • In 2007, he received a scholarship grant from the European Urological Scholarship Program (EUSP) to study laparoscopic surgery.
  • In 2011, he was awarded a grant from the America-Austria Foundation (AAF) and completed a one-month internship in minimally invasive surgery.
  • In 2017, he completed a scientific training course on the diagnosis and treatment of prostate cancer.

 

Due to his active medical and scientific involvement, Dr. Nikoleishvili is a member of numerous national and international organizations, including:

  • Member of the Georgian Urological Association (GUA) since 2000, and Executive Board Member.
  • Member of the European Association of Urology (EAU) since 2000.
  • Former Council Member of the World Young Urologists Association (2002-2005).
  • Former President of the Georgian Young Urologists Association (2002-2006).
  • Member of the American Urological Association (AUA) since 2018.
  • Chairman of the Caucasus-Central Asia Section at the European Association of Urology (CCA) since 2019.
  • Honorary Member of the Korean Urological Association (KUA) since 2019.
  • Member of the International Continence Society (ICS) since 2019.
  • Member of the Société Internationale d'Urologie (SIU) from 2019 to 2024.
  • Member of the European Society of Urological Technology (ESUT) from 2020 to 2024.

 

Dr. Nikoleishvili is also an active speaker at international conferences and training sessions, delivering significant presentations on topics such as:

  • "Laparoscopic Treatment of High-Risk Prostate Cancer"
  • "Laparoscopic Prostatectomy in Georgia"

 

As an expert in uro-oncology and laparoscopy, he has conducted numerous training courses and masterclasses worldwide.

 

His academic contributions are equally noteworthy—he is the author of 15 scientific publications, has supervised six international and two local dissertations, and has played a key role in training future doctors as a lecturer at multiple universities. He has also served as the head of an international laparoscopic training center.

 

Dr. David Nikoleishvili performs approximately 400 high-tech procedures and interventions annually and treats around 2,000 outpatients per year. He offers a full range of outpatient and surgical urological services.
