Biography

Archil Sharashenidze, an academic doctor of medicine and an associate professor, is a licensed obstetrician-gynecologist, oncogynecologist, and colposcopist. He joined Caucasus Medical Center in 2021 and has been successfully leading the Oncogynecology Department ever since.

 

Alongside his professional practice, he has completed multiple international training courses. In 2016, he obtained a certificate from the European School of Oncology (ESO) for completing a course on gynecological and urogenital cancers.

 

Since 2018, he has been participating annually in the Congress of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO). In terms of academic and scientific work, he is a co-author of nearly 20 publications. Additionally, he is actively involved in the education of future doctors as the Head of the Surgical Department and an Associate Professor at David Tvildiani Medical University. He is also the head of the Basic Laparoscopic Skills course and a co-author and permanent moderator of ESGO’s Russian-language webinar project.

 

Due to his active medical and scientific contributions, he has held several key positions in international organizations:

From 2015 to 2017, he was the local coordinator for European students within the European Society of Gynecology.
Since 2017, he has been a member of the European Society of Gynecological Oncology (ESGO).
Since 2019, he has been a member of the European Network of Young Gynecological Oncologists (ENYGO).
He also served as the National Representative of ENYGO from 2019 to 2021 and has been reappointed for the 2024-2026 term.

 

As an oncogynecologist and associate professor, Archil Sharashenidze performs an average of 300 surgical procedures and treats 600 outpatient cases annually. Together with his highly qualified team, he offers comprehensive outpatient and surgical treatments, utilizing the hospital’s advanced medical and technical resources.
