The mission of the Blood Center is to promote voluntary, non-remunerated blood donation and ensure that patients have access to safe blood components.
The need for blood components is constantly increasing. Anyone may need them at any moment — including:
Oncology patients
Children with leukemia
Patients with trauma, burns, or fractures
Mothers and newborns
Victims of car accidents
Individuals requiring emergency or planned medical procedures
The entire process takes about an hour, while the donation itself lasts only 10–15 minutes.
It involves a few easy steps:
Registration
You’ll provide general and contact information and a valid ID.
Health History & Physical Check
You’ll answer questions about your health and travel history. Your temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and hemoglobin level will be checked.
Donation
A sterile needle is inserted into a thoroughly disinfected area of your arm.
Rest & Recovery
You’ll rest for 10–15 minutes to allow your body to adjust. After that, you can resume your day — knowing you've helped save a life.
The volume of plasma lost during donation is typically replaced within 24 hours.
Red blood cells may take 4 to 6 weeks to fully replenish.
