Biography

 

Tsitsino Shurgaya is a plastic surgeon, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and a specialist in facial and eyelid rejuvenation procedures.

 

Education and Career

 

In 1981, she graduated from Tbilisi State Medical University. Since 1985, she has been studying at the Central Institute for Advanced Medical Studies (now the Russian Medical Academy of Continuous Professional Education – RMAPO), where she completed her residency, postgraduate studies, and doctoral training.

 

In 1992, she defended her Ph.D. dissertation on "Neuromyoplastic surgeries for paresis and paralysis of facial muscles."
In 1995, she defended her doctoral dissertation on "Surgical algorithm for treating patients with facial paralysis."

 

Professional Achievements

 

  • Member of the European Association of Plastic Surgeons and the World Association of Plastic Surgeons.
  • Active member of the Russian Society of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery (OPREH).
  • Faculty member at the Department of Cosmetology and Reconstructive Surgery at RMAPO.
  • Associate Professor at the Department of Plastic and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Russian Medical Academy, where she teaches plastic surgery.

 

Scientific Work and Unique Techniques

 

  • Author of over 100 scientific publications and approximately 10 unique surgical techniques in facial surgery.
  • Co-author of two scientific textbooks on plastic surgery.
  • Has performed over 5,000 facial and eyelid rejuvenation surgeries.
  • Mastered the spacelifting technique and is the only certified specialist performing this procedure in Russia.

 

Awards and Recognition

 

In 2008, she was honored with the "Gracia" Award in the category "Best Facial Plastic Surgeon."

 

Tsitsino Shurgaya is an internationally recognized expert who continues to actively contribute to the scientific and practical development of plastic surgery.
